Busy Days

A lot has happened in our lives since the last blog. The first thing is we moved! We moved to a two bedroom apartment and the boys now share a room. At first I was worried that it would be horrible because they would keep each other up but they have done great. They actually sleep better in the room together than seperate. I think they enjoy having each other there. Kolter will not go to sleep unless Kaden is in there, (or he is already asleep when I lay him down). But they are enjoying the new apartment.

The next big excitement for us is our new puppy! Last week we drove to a breeder and got a AKC registered beagle for the family. It is a lemon male and is very cute and calm. He is 7 weeks old today so he is still VERY young but already house training GREAT. He has been a wonderful addition to the family. Kolter just adores Chase, they are constantly playing together. Kaden also loves Chase but in a different way. He enjoys to pet Chase when Chase is sleeping or eating. He does not like Chase around his feet. But we have made the couch and his room "safe zones". I am sure he will come around after a while, because he still loves Chase, but just needs to keep working on being comfortable with him.

We are all doing great, everybody is healthy and enjoying the first floor apartment. We are STILL unpacking, we have more stuff than we have room for so it is taking us a little longer to get everything put away. Plus with John having a full time job and full time school and myself going to school full time and taking care of the kids, we have less time to devote to unpacking. But it will be done soon, now that everything is starting to settle down, and we are getting a routine.

Kolter walking

It has taken me a while to get a good video of Kolter walking, as soon as I get the video camera out he does not want to perform I guess. This is not the best he can do, he even passed me walking earlier. His normal walking is just from an object to me, or me to an object, but now he is really enjoying walking just to walk. He has also learned how to stand without holding onto anything. But other than his walking he is doing well. He has been a little under the weather for the past week so hopefully it will clear up and he can be my happy monkey again.

Kolter monkey walking

This is how Kolter moves when he thinks the distance is too far to try and walk but he still wants to get there fast. He also monkey walks when he is in the kitchen (probably because of the tile).

Kaden's first day of preschool

Well the time has come for Kaden to start going to preschool. He has been so excited about it since we told him he would go a month ago. So the first day of school finally got here and when we got there he did not even hesitate to go play with the other kids. As I walked out he was enjoying jumping on the trampoline. It is a "fitness based" preschool, at a gymnastics facility. He LOVED the first day! He had all good remarks on his progress report that they send home. We are so proud of him for being such a big boy. He is very excited to go back next week. Currently he is only enrolled for one day a week but it will still be good for him. But here is a picture of him ready for his first day. Hopefully I can keep this updated about all his excitements in preschool.

Kaden's gymnastics

Here is another video of Kaden doing the beam. He normally would not be on there at all without the instructor's help, but he is getting more and more brave every time.

Kaden's gymnastics

Here is Kaden on his last day of gymnastics! He has come a long way since we started. He used to not do the beam at all and now he will go up there and try it. Plus he is excellent with his forward roll and he is starting to learn backward rolls.

Kolter 9 month checkup

Kolter had his 9 month checkup this week. He weighs in at a whopping 23 lbs 5 oz. and he is 30 inches long. He is perfectly healthy and growing well. The only thing he is not doing that he "should" be doing is waving. For whatever reason he has decided he does not need to wave at anyone. We are practicing it now, but he does not seem to have a desire to wave. Oh well, I am sure he will wave when he is ready to, but for now he can just smile at everyone.
